Partner Press Release
ON Semiconductor And Lucent Technologies Share Semiconductor Data Via E-Business Transaction

Transaction Establishes A Real Time Capability For Sharing Product Specifications

For Release October 10, 2000

SAN FRANCISCO

ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN) today announced that it has collaborated with Lucent Technologies on an electronic data transaction to facilitate the transfer of semiconductor data. The e-business transaction will enable Lucent's designers and field application engineers to obtain critical product information on specific electronic components such as broadband and power management semiconductors from ON Semiconductor real-time via the Internet, without having to leave their operating environment to browse ON Semiconductor's Web site.

The announcement was made at EConcert, a conference sponsored by RosettaNet, which is a consortium dedicated to the development and deployment of standard electronic business interfaces to align processes between supply chain partners on a global basis.

The transaction between Lucent and ON Semiconductor is based on a standard, known as Partner Interface Process (PIP) 2A9. A PIP is a system-to-system XML-based dialog critical to aligning business processes in the supply chain.

"As a member of RosettaNet, Lucent shares the consortium's objectives in promoting the development of open content and transaction standards for electronic commerce," said Jon Lee, member of technical staff at Lucent Technologies. "Lucent is focused on being a leader in building the broadband mobile Internet infrastructure. Our work with ON Semiconductor and other key suppliers on this standard gives us a critical product development tool for addressing our customers' needs."

"ON Semiconductor is committed to making it easy and convenient for our customers to do business with us," said Bill Kalaf, program manager for RosettaNet Integration at ON Semiconductor. "We are now in a position to share standard interface processes and data formats that are in sync with Lucent, as we continue to deliver on our corporate imperatives for service, growth, cost reduction, and speed."
