Partner Press Release Trusted Online Forum for XML Consortium Enables Secure Collaboration and Content Management for Members and Users For Release October 18, 2000
PORTLAND Webridge, Inc., the leader in the development and implementation of private exchanges, today announced that RosettaNet, the non-profit consortium dedicated to the creation and implementation of industry-wide eBusiness process standards, has selected and deployed Webridge Private Exchange to simplify the consortium's web content organization and to improve content delivery to both members and non-members. Webridge Private Exchange is the first packaged suite of applications to address the online collaboration, commerce and content management requirements of companies and organizations transforming their business processes for the digital economy. RosettaNet is using this secure, collaborative environment as a portal to streamline the consortium's activities, as it works toward continued development and deployment of XML standards for improved electronic business processes worldwide. "Webridge was able to quickly deliver the functionality and personalization we required, enabling us to provide non-members with comprehensive information and to strengthen relationships with existing members by enhanced access to the information they require," said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO, RosettaNet. "By tying together all facets of our portal into a secure, collaborative solution, RosettaNet and its members are pioneering XML standards at Internet speed." RosettaNet selected Webridge because of its ability to deliver a solution that met key requirements. The private exchange solution is fully scalable, currently supporting several thousand members and affords a secure, personalized information exchange environment which enables RosettaNet to grant members and non-members access to information based upon their relationship and status with the organization. Accordingly, groups of representative companies can securely collaborate in self-managed Mini-Exchanges, controlling content, membership and workflow. RosettaNet also required the ability to support and manage discussion forums centered around specific concepts, including moderated forums hosted by RosettaNet staff members or member users. Webridge Private Exchange allows for the restriction of access to individual discussions by audience parameters such as membership status, role, company or region. When a message is posted, users are able to see who posted it, the date it was posted, and the number of replies received. The solution also provides the ability to search the discussions by topic, date, member name or by text. In addition, the RosettaNet site includes full site search capability and technical support and input forums. "Being selected by RosettaNet is especially significant, given the organization's expertise in the eBusiness arena. Their selection of Webridge validates the need for dynamic private exchanges to maximize an organization's business activities in a secure, online forum," stated Gary Fielland, Webridge president and CEO. "With Webridge Private Exchange, collaborative knowledge and information-sharing activities previously conducted in a variety of arenas are centralized and easily managed online, enabling RosettaNet to improve the value and effectiveness of the many daily interactions of this progressive standards organization." Webridge has more than 100 installations in a variety of industries including high-tech,
telecommunications and wireless, financial services, online learning, agriculture, packaging, and
healthcare. Customers include Xerox, Honeywell, NEC, Primedia Workplace Learning Systems,
BenefitMall.com and InFocus Systems. Major technology and implementation partners include
Microsoft, Intel, Proxicom and Crowe Chizek.
