TIBCO Software Introduces 'B2B in a Box' RosettaNet E-Business Solution
TIBCO To Provide Rapid Deployment Of Turnkey B2B Solution For Small To Mid-Sized Enterprises
For Release
June 11, 2001
LAS VEGAS --
TIBCO Software Inc. (Nasdaq:
TIBX) announced
today, at its Strategic Directions 2001 customer conference, it will be demonstrating a
business-to-business (B2B) solution designed specifically to meet the needs of small to mid-sized
companies for plug-and-play RosettaNet implementations. RosettaNet is an independent, non-profit
consortium dedicated to the collaborative development and rapid deployment of open Internet-based
standards that align processes within the global high-technology trading network. Many smaller
organizations would like to realize some of the benefits of using RosettaNet standards, but lack
the budget, people or time required to undertake a large implementation. TIB/NetworkConnector
® for RosettaNet addresses this challenge with a turnkey, low-cost
solution.
TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet is the
direct result of the RosettaNet Basics program, an Intel-driven initiative that defines and makes
available the baseline RosettaNet technology and functionality that small and midsize companies
need for B2B integration, and, therefore, reduces the implementation price tag. TIBCO's solution
will be an easy-to-implement subset of the entire range of RosettaNet standards, based on the most
common business processes.
TIBCO is already known as a RosettaNet leader
and has built best-in-class solutions using RosettaNet's e-business interoperability standards,
enabling high tech manufacturing customers, such as Intel, Hitachi and Xilinx, to capture the value
of implementing RosettaNet standards.
"With this product, TIBCO will be helping
smaller enterprises become e-businesses by providing the real-time integration of their business
processes with those of its customers, partners and suppliers," said Vivek Ranadiv, chairman and
CEO of TIBCO Software. "TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet is ideal for organizations that want to
realize some of the benefits of using RosettaNet standards, but who don't necessarily require -- or
can't afford -- a lengthy large scale implementation."
About TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet
Using TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet, enterprises will be able to rapidly and easily
realize some of the advantages of using RosettaNet in a very short time frame. Instead of the
average three month RosettaNet implementation cycle, it will be possible for enterprises using
TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet to get up and running with RosettaNet in only two weeks.
TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet will not
only enable smaller organizations to do real-time B2B with large enterprises, but will also help
them stay competitive by streamlining business processes and gaining supply chain efficiencies.
Tangible benefits will include: automation of manual processes (order entry, shipping
notification), increased data accuracy, reduction of working capital (inventory and AR) and revenue
optimization.
"Turnkey solutions, such as the
TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet, will enable companies to take advantage of
business-to-business integration, without significant cost barriers to implementation. Companies of
any size now have the ability to automate business processes using RosettaNet standards," said
Charles Goodwin, Intel's director of business-to-business integration and RosettaNet programs.
"This will enable companies to more quickly respond to new business prospects and reduce the time
and cost required for them to deliver products and services to their customers."
"For B2B to become pervasive, it needs to be
available to small and medium-sized enterprises," said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet. "TIBCO
has shown its commitment to RosettaNet by providing solutions to large enterprise customers and is
now leveraging that expertise to offer low-cost solutions for mid-tier trading partners."
"Small and medium sized enterprises will be able
to achieve more rapid trading partner integration through the use of integration tools which
support standards such as RosettaNet," said Karen Peterson, director of collaborative commerce for
Gartner, Inc., an independent industry research and advisory firm.
TIBCO currently plans to make the
TIB/NetworkConnector for RosettaNet solution available in Q3 2001.
