Support for RosettaNet Ready Accelerates Trading Partner Network Deployments Using the IONA e-Business Platform
For Release
September 18, 2001
Waltham, MA --
IONA®, the leading e-Business Platform provider for Total Business Integration™ (NASDAQ:
IONA), today announced the company has committed to join the RosettaNet Ready™ Program, which
provides products and services needed to accelerate the implementation of RosettaNet standards.
IONA's participation in the RosettaNet Ready Program will facilitate simplified and efficient
RosettaNet trading partner network and interoperability services deployments using the IONA
e-Business Platform. IONA initiated support for the RosettaNet e-business standard in its products
in 1999 and currently supports organizations including SCI Systems, Newark Electronics, and
Marrakech who utilize RosettaNet to standardize their business processes.
The RosettaNet Ready Program speeds development and adoption of RosettaNet-enabled products
by delivering readiness and development tools, compliance testing and product benchmarking --
driving integration costs down and adoption rates up. The program fuels continued growth of an
immense RosettaNet trading network that encompasses both small and large and small enterprises.
"One of the key drivers behind the success of the RosettaNet consortium is the ongoing
commitment exhibited by our many valued solution provider companies," said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO
of RosettaNet. With the introduction of the new RosettaNet Ready Program, we see that dedication
extended by IONA and others as they continue their involvement as an important technical and
strategic player within the RosettaNet community."
"IONA's subscription to the RosettaNet Ready Program is important to organizations who rely
on the IONA e-Business Platform to integrate their internal systems and supply-chain operations for
B2B commerce," said Klaus-Dieter Naujok, chief scientific officer at IONA. "Over 4,500
organizations have chosen IONA because of our long-time commitment to standards and the proven
benefits of scalability, reliability, and efficiency standards-based systems provide. RosettaNet
process standards will play a major role in the continued development and adoption of e-business
initiatives and IONA is dedicated to its success."
In subscribing to the RosettaNet Ready Developer Tools Library and Software Compliance Badge
Services, IONA will have the ability to provide a common benchmark platform to measure and ensure
IONA e-Business Platform™ adherence to the RosettaNet Implementation Framework (RNIF 2.0) and
Partner Interface Processes™ (PIPs®). The Developer Tools Library offers access to the Self-Test
Kit application, which assists in the future development of RNIF 2.0-compliant products and trading
partner readiness testing and interoperability services.
IONA was a key contributor to the RNIF 2.0 validation test matrix that was used by SAIC, a
RosettaNet program Partner that developed the Self-Kit application, to test the Self-Test Kit
application and other software products included in RosettaNet Ready program. IONA assisted SAIC in
the development of the Self-Test Kit application by installing and testing alpha and beta releases
of the application against IONA's RNIF 2.0 implementation.
