E2open Delivers Industry’s First Demonstration

E2open Demonstration Hub Validates Functionality Designed

For Release November 10, 2004

Redwood City, CA, USA

E2open today announced the availability of the first demonstration environment to showcase the newly-proposed capabilities developed under the RosettaNet Automated Enablement (RAE) foundational program. RAE’s goal is to enable trading partners of all sizes, particularly small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs), to cost-effectively participate in a RosettaNet-based message exchange. The RAE demonstration hub leverages key E2open software such as the free E2open B2B Client, to provide a hands-on way to familiarize the market with the easy, cost-effective and rapid RosettaNet-based deployment enabled by RAE.

Several large, multi-national companies have adopted RosettaNet. The proposed RAE standard provides a more scalable and flexible architecture that makes supporting RosettaNet transactions a simpler and more cost-effective proposition for trading partners of all sizes and technology capabilities. The proposed standard will allow organizations to utilize their existing investment in RosettaNet infrastructure to achieve mass-adoption across their global trading partner base.

E2open is able to provide the first demonstration environment for RAE by leveraging its existing software capabilities such as the free E2open B2B Client and the E2open Integration Platform, as well as its experience on-boarding over 6,000 trading partners through a broad range of integration options such as web browser, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Excel, RosettaNet, EDI-VAN, EDI-INT, various XML formats, web services and many more.

The RAE demonstration hub developed by E2open is available by downloading the free E2open B2B Client at http://www.e2open.com/products/sol/b2bc/ that allows RosettaNet and non-RosettaNet members to further gain an understanding of RAE.

“In order to develop the demonstration environment, E2open worked closely with leading RosettaNet implementers and their trading partners to provide an RAE solution for trading partners facing challenges such as intermittent Internet connectivity, limited or no back-end systems and limited IT infrastructure,“ said Mark Schenecker, E2open’s vice president of interoperability and standards and a key contributor to the RosettaNet RAE specifications.
