RosettaNet Press Release For Release February 14, 2000
SANTA ANA, CA -- RosettaNet Monday announced that Jennifer Hamilton, director of e-business at Quantum Corporation, has been named chief executive officer at RosettaNet. Hamilton will be assuming leadership of RosettaNet as an executive on loan from Quantum. The non-profit consortium of leading companies in the information technology (IT) and electronic components (EC) industries said last month that a transition in staff leadership would take place as Fadi Chehade's two-year tenure as RosettaNet CEO comes to an end. Quantum is a member of the RosettaNet IT Managing Board, and Hamilton has been an active champion of RosettaNet supply chain e-business process standards within Quantum. "The mission of RosettaNet is absolutely essential to the growth of two closely related industries that heavily influence the digital economy,'' she said. "This is a critical period for the consortium as members are preparing for production implementation. The unwavering commitment of board members, solution partners and affiliates ensures our continuing success.'' "As a leader in the information storage industry, Quantum believes that RosettaNet's goal of establishing common electronic processes for business-to-business exchange is critical,'' said Curt Francis, RosettaNet board member and Quantum vice president of corporate development. "We are delighted with the unprecedented success that RosettaNet has achieved so far, and we believe that Jennifer's leadership and e-business expertise will ensure we all realize its benefits over the next two years.'' In her position at Quantum, Hamilton was responsible for online initiatives and e-business strategies for the Fortune 500 diversified mass storage company. Prior to joining Quantum, she was responsible for developing enterprise-wide Internet, intranet and extranet solutions at Corporate Express, another Fortune 500 company. Previously, she gained more than 15 years' experience in strategic planning and product marketing at emerging growth and Fortune 500 companies in automotive, medical, consumer and aerospace industries. Hamilton earned her bachelor's degrees in business administration from both the University of Wisconsin and Universite de Marseille in France. "Transitioning the vision, strategy, and thought leadership that has driven RosettaNet to date is critical,'' said Hollis Bischoff, vice president, electronic business strategies of Stamford, Conn.-based META Group, Inc. "Bringing on someone that already shares RosettaNet's vision and has had significant real world experience will ensure RosettaNet's continued success.'' "The goals undertaken by RosettaNet have never before been attempted, and the managing board believes Jennifer brings all the skills and experience necessary to lead us in a transition from a development stage to a major institutional force in modernizing the nature of e-business relationships,'' said Hans Wildenberg, chairman of the RosettaNet EC Managing Board and vice president and director of sales, Semiconductor Products Sector at Motorola.
