Santa Ana, CA, United States of America --

RosettaNet, the global e-business process standards consortium for the IT (information technology) and EC (electronic components) industries, today announced the appointment of Paul Tearnen as vice president of standards development. Tearnen is on loan to RosettaNet from Extricity Inc., a RosettaNet Solution Partner that provides business-to-business relationship management platforms.

As vice president of standards development reporting to Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet, Tearnen will oversee the operational aspects of the RosettaNet standards development effort. His responsibilities include the production of RosettaNet Partner Interface Processes® (PIPs®), process modeling, development and maintenance of standard dictionaries, and technical services including compliance, documentation and technical support.

"By leveraging resources and expertise from partner companies like Extricity, RosettaNet is moving at Internet speed to develop and deliver quality e-business process standards," said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet. "Paul has been an active participant in RosettaNet development and implementation projects, and our consortium will greatly benefit from his new leadership role. Paul will provide the vision to take RosettaNet forward into e-marketplaces and other important IT/EC related supply chains."

Upon the conclusion of his assignment at RosettaNet, Paul will re-join Extricity as the director of RosettaNet solutions. In his role, he will be responsible for development and market-facing programs related to the RosettaNet e-business standards. Prior to joining Extricity, Tearnen gained nearly 20 years of extensive hands-on experience during his tenure at Bourns, Inc., in such diverse areas as IT management, planning and implementation, contract negotiation, software development and large-scale program management. While at Bourns, Tearnen held the dual roles of director of information technology and director of electronic commerce, where he was responsible for the worldwide IT function and the worldwide electronic commerce strategy and implementation.

Tearnen earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University.
