RosettaNet Appoints Vice President to Lead Americas Region

On Loan From Extricity, David Kraemer Brings 20 Years Industry Experience

For Release February 6, 2001

Santa Ana, CA, United States of America -- RosettaNet, high technology industries' leading e-business process standards consortium, today announced the appointment of David Kraemer as vice president of the Americas region. Kraemer will lead the consortium's activities in North America, standardizing supply chain processes that support members from leading information technology (IT), electronic component (EC) and semiconductor manufacturing (SM) companies.

RosettaNet's regional groupings in North America, Europe and Asia have dedicated teams that facilitate and drive large-scale deployment of RosettaNet standards. The groups work to identify regional business requirements while continuing to promote adoption with members' trading partners worldwide. "Under our new global organizational structure, Dave and his team will support membership activities in the Americas region, in conjunction with the RosettaNet headquarter organizations of Standards Development, Marketing and Operations," said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet.

As vice president reporting to Hamilton, Kraemer will focus on three key areas, including partner implementation, recruitment and regional marketing. Specifically, he will help build and manage a partner relationship team charged with accelerating successful implementation of RosettaNet standards in a production environment. Working closely with the member companies, Kraemer and his team will ensure that partner requirements and opportunities in the Americas are supported and input into the standards development and maintenance , processes. He will also be responsible for recruitment activities that support the expansion of RosettaNet's existing membership base.

"Our standards are moving quickly, and with great success, because of the ongoing collaboration and support of RosettaNet's member companies. The commitment demonstrated by our many partners who have elected to participate in the on-loan resource program provide us with an incredible opportunity to assemble a dynamic team of professionals," remarked Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet. "The huge strides we have made in the last year are a direct result of our organizational agility and remarkable core talent."

Kraemer, director of industry marketing for Extricity, began his on-loan assignment as RosettaNet's vice president of North America under an agreement with Extricity, a leading business-to-business (B2B) platform provider. Other partner companies that have loaned executives for key RosettaNet leadership positions include Agilent, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Lucent Technologies, Motorola, NEC Corporation, Quantum, SeeBeyond, Texas Instruments, and webMethods.

"Extricity is excited to have Dave join the RosettaNet management team on an on-loan basis," said Extricity's vice president of marketing, David Cope. "His extensive background and experience in supply chain management makes him an excellent candidate for the position."

A veteran of the electronics industry, Kraemer has more than 20 years experience in managing supply chain processes. In his marketing role at Extricity during the past year, Kraemer was involved in B2B software solution products, standards, and implementations for the electronics industry. Prior to this, Kraemer served as director of product management at Arrow Electronics, a $10 billion industrial distributor of electronic components and services. During his tenure, Arrow successfully completed the first live RosettaNet message exchange with Intel.

Kraemer's industry experience also includes senior-level positions at Texas Instruments and Intel, where he helped to develop distribution marketing strategies. A graduate of DePauw University and the University of Houston, he holds a bachelor's degree and MBA, respectively.
