RosettaNet Press Release
Global E-Business Leader RosettaNet Featured At Comdex Chicago 2001

"RosettaNet: Lessons Learned" To Feature Senior E-Business Executives From Intel, Arrow Electronics and Hewlett-Packard

For Release April 2, 2001

SANTA ANA --

RosettaNet, the world's leading global e-business process standards organization, will sponsor "RosettaNet: Lessons Learned," a panel discussion that will focus on e-business implications for driving the customer revolution. The session will take place on April 4 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the COMDEX Chicago 2001 technology conference, comdex.biz. The comdex.biz Conference focuses on the changing world of e-commerce. Now, all business is e-business, whether it's called e-business, e-commerce, Internet integration, supply chain integration, dis-intermediation, re-intermediation, Net, vortex or butterfly market transformation.

Geoffrey Bock, a senior consultant/analyst with the Patricia Seybold Group will moderate the panel featuring leading technology executives from Intel, Arrow Electronics and Hewlett Packard. These include: Colin Evans, director, e-Business Strategy, Intel Architecture Group, Intel; Pete Karolczak, vice president and CIO, Consumer Business, Hewlett-Packard; and Dave Westmoreland, vice president and CIO, Arrow Electronics.

"These discussions are especially critical to e-business because business executives need to figure out how best to leverage RosettaNet for competitive advantage. Trading partners within a supply chain now must decide how and when they want to implement RosettaNet standards, which is key to optimizing the capabilities of the Internet and the Web, and defines the technical standards about how things work and get done," said Bock.

The panel will explore why RosettaNet is succeeding in high technology's rapidly evolving e-marketplace and also look at how companies can build stronger relationships with their business partners. The panel will address how strategic partners can positively impact their bottom line through reduced costs and increased operational efficiencies based on RosettaNet standards. Company executives will discuss their perspectives on critical success factors, as well as the future for business process choreography in today's changing Internet economy.

RosettaNet Vice President, Global Marketing and Strategic Development Mary Schoonmaker and Vice President, Americas for RosettaNet, Dave Kraemer also will participate in panel discussions during the conference. Schoonmaker will moderate a session titled "B2B Strategies for Success." As part of the "Managing Business in the B2B Evolution" track, experts will share their opinions on the techniques for success in the B2B marketplace. Topics will include how to choose the right partners to deliver information, and what works with some vertical markets, as well as what differentiates one B2B site from another. The panel will be held on April 3, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will include senior executives from SciQuest, Freemarkets, and CDW Computer Centers.

Kraemer will participate as a panelist for the "Syndicated Data Opportunity" on Tuesday, April 3 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Executives from WebMethods and BuildNet who are developing and implementing B2B integration tools for electronic commerce will discuss how to effectively manage B2B data and integrate legacy backend or ERP systems with trading partners throughout the supply chain.
