RosettaNet Press Release
RosettaNet Launches Solution Provider Board To Champion Rapid E-Business Standards Adoption

Enterprise Application and Middleware Developers, Integrators, Consultants, e-Service Providers and Infomediaries Join Forces to Deploy RosettaNet Standards

For Release June 4, 2001

Santa Ana, CA --

RosettaNet, high technology's leading e-business process consortium, today announced the expansion of its global organization with the launch of the Solution Provider Board.  Comprised of industry-leading enterprise application and middleware developers, systems integrators, consultancies, e-service providers and infomediaries, the primary focus of this newly formed board will be to drive critical development and implementation strategies in support of key RosettaNet initiatives.

RosettaNet's Executive Board approved formation of the Solution Provider Board earlier this year; to date, 16 founding members have committed and will convene for the first time on June 13 in San Jose, California.  During this initial meeting, board members from companies such as Agile Software, BEA Systems, E2open, eConnections, Fujitsu, i2 Technologies, Infoteria, Manugistics, Mentor Graphics, NEC, Peregrine/Extricity, SAP, Syntricity, TIBCO Software, Viacore and webMethods, will adopt bylaws and determine organizational roles.

The Solution Provider Board will work closely with RosettaNet's existing supply chain boards by engaging in ongoing milestone programs and related deployment projects.  In addition, the Solution Provider Board will take a leadership role in driving RosettaNet's e-business initiatives such as low-cost, turnkey solutions, next generation architecture and interoperability via RosettaNet's software compliance program.

"Solution provider companies have been heavily involved in RosettaNet since its early inception.  Our goal in launching a formal Solution Provider Board is to ensure a more cohesive partnership between senior executives in the supply chain and the solution partner community in support of RosettaNet's common goal of pervasive B2B e-business in the high technology industry," said Jennifer Hamilton, chief executive officer of RosettaNet.

"Response to the formation a Solution Provider Board has been outstanding.  We're looking forward to the extended leadership and expertise that this esteemed group will bring in achieving our production implementation goals."

The Solution Provider Board is the fourth to be named since RosettaNet was formally launched in 1998 by a group of leading information technology (IT) firms.  Less than one year later, a consortium of electronic components (EC) manufacturers subsequently joined together to form the EC Board in August 1999.  In October 2000, RosettaNet added a Semiconductor Manufacturing (SM) Board to support the growing needs in the industry.
