RosettaNet Press Release
RosettaNet Announces Availability of Software Compliance Testing; Initiative is Critical Step in Driving Global Interoperability Across High Tech Trading Network

Drake Certivo to Provide Testing Services for Companies Seeking RosettaNet Ready™ Software Compliance Badges

For Release March 26, 2002

Santa Ana, CA --

RosettaNet, the high technology industry's leading e-business standards consortium, today announced the availability of RosettaNet Ready™ compliance testing services and badges for global solution providers and others seeking to obtain compliance with the RosettaNet e-business process standards for their software solutions.

Compliance badges awarded by RosettaNet provide instant marketplace recognition for new and revised RosettaNet-complaint software solutions.   The badges represent an endorsement of quality that helps companies differentiate their products and services within the marketplace.   RosettaNet Implementation Framework (RNIF) and Partner Interface Process™ (PIP ® ) compliance badges instill both product recognition and a level of public confidence sought by corporate supply chain looking to partner with a provider of RosettaNet-compliant software solutions.

The software compliance badge services are part of a broader RosettaNet Ready Program that provides Developer Tools such as Self-Test Kit application, test scripts, custom script generator tool, and related documentation for building RosettaNet standards-based readiness testing and systems integration solutions. The program is structured with low-entry costs to encourage greater adoption, experimentation and development of products and services for RosettaNet.   Test scripts now available include testing for adherence to the RNIF v2.0 and a baseline set of PIPs.   Additional test scripts for PIPs in the areas of product discovery and distribution, order management and inventory management are currently under development.

"Our Partners have identified rapid implementation and cost reduction as essential for volume production and acquisition of new trading partners within the high tech supply chain," said Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet.   "Based on the overwhelming response to this important industry initiative, we fully expect that the RosettaNet Ready Program will act as a catalyst in driving the industry toward compliance, with a longer term goal of delivering interoperable solutions to the marketplace.”

Interoperability across the entire trading network can be greatly enhanced by the RosettaNet Ready Software Compliance Program. Systems integrators, trading partner exchanges and solution providers that offer interoperability test information for specific solutions running production data between supply chain partners will now have the ability to support testing services and validations outside of the compliance benchmark.

Several leading companies have already committed to the purchase of subscriptions to the RosettaNet Ready Program, underscoring the critical need that this program addresses for B2B in the high technology industry. RosettaNet Partner companies that have already purchased RosettaNet Ready products and services include, Chip Data, Drake Certivo, E2open, Fujitsu Limited, Hitachi, GridNode, i2 Technologies, Infoteria, IONA Technologies, J.D. Edwards, NEC, Peregrine Systems, Perwill, PTC, SeeBeyond, Sterling Commerce, TIBCO Software, Vitria Technology and webMethods.   Additionally, CommerceRoute, Drake Certivo, SAP, SeeBeyond and Timogen Systems have committed engineering resources to produce test scripts, thus extending the breadth of consortium standards testable under this program.

In addition to delivering a high degree of value to solution providers, RosettaNet Ready subscriptions are also beneficial to supply chain companies. For example, the Self-Test Kit application provides consistent tests against which to measure compliance, and is also effective in accelerating the debugging process as companies communicate their specific connectivity requirements to the trading partner network(s) they create.

Compliance Service Provider (CSP)
The consortium has named Drake Certivo, Inc., a global provider of education, certification, and compliance services, to administer compliance testing of software solutions submitted by companies seeking to validate that their product(s) comply with RosettaNet standards specifications.   Specifically, Certivo will act as the compliance service provider (CSP), a qualified third-party implementer of the RosettaNet Ready software compliance testing process.   In this role, Certivo will also provide baseline support for the Program’s Self-Test Kit -- a testing tool designed to emulate a trading partner exchange using RosettaNet standards.

"As the designated service provider for the RosettaNet Ready software compliance badge testing, Certivo is pleased to play a role in speeding RosettaNet production implementations,” said Jamie Graham, President of Drake Certivo, Inc.   “The RosettaNet Ready Program is a valuable initiative that helps to ensure software solutions are compliant with RosettaNet XML-based standards, thus fostering greater adoption by key industry players and their trading partners."

Developer Tools Library & Compliance Badge Subscription Pricing
Offered as a subscription, the RosettaNet Ready Developer Tools Library gives subscribers complete access to the entire RosettaNet Ready Source Code, Self-Test Kit application, PIP Test Scripts, Test Script Generator Tool and substantial documentation, as well as access to community-developed content. The source code and tools are designed to assist in the development of RNIF v2.0-compliant software products and trading partner readiness testing and interoperability services.   The subscription price for the Developer Tool Library is $25K.

The software compliance badge subscription provides compliance badges, Self-Test Kit application , Compliance Test Script Library and community content , documentation and support , and updates as released.   Volume badge subscriptions are priced at $60K while individual software product badges range from $5K to $10K.
