RosettaNet Press Release
RosettaNet Global Industry Consortium Names New Vice President

Former Air Products Executive Colin Robson to Lead Europe-Based Standards Initiatives

For Release July 1, 2003

SANTA ANA, CA

RosettaNet, the industry’s leading e-business standards consortium, today announced the appointment of Colin Robson as RosettaNet Vice President of Europe.   Effective immediately, Robson will assume executive management and oversight of RosettaNet Europe, including
regional operations, strategic development and marketing initiatives.

In this highly visible position, Robson will work closely with RosettaNet’s leadership team, Board members and various Partner companies to identify local business requirements and set the consortium’s European strategy that will drive RosettaNet objectives and sustain progress around standards adoption and implementations in the region.   He will be responsible for creating new strategic business opportunities by enhancing relationships with European-based industry associations and other organizations that support e-business, as well as supply chains linked to the vertical markets served by RosettaNet.   Robson will also play a key role in identifying and recruiting new Board and Council Members that will contribute to RosettaNet’s continued success worldwide.

“We are pleased that Colin has agreed to join RosettaNet’s dynamic leadership team,” said Jennifer Hamilton, RosettaNet CEO and President.   “His solid background in business management and marketing, coupled with his knowledge of the European marketplace, makes Colin an excellent asset to the RosettaNet community.”

Prior to joining RosettaNet, Robson served as European E-Business Director and European Marketing Director for Air Products and Chemicals Inc., the largest global supplier of electronic materials, hydrogen, helium and select performance chemicals, with $5.5 billion in revenue.   During his 30-year tenure with Air Products, Robson also held senior level management positions in the areas of business development, engineering and distribution and information systems.   He earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, and is an active member of the CBI eBusiness Council (Council for British Industry).

Robson’s appointment comes immediately following the formation of the consortium’s Telecommunications Industry Council (TC), the fifth body to be organized since RosettaNet was formally launched in 1998 by a group of leading Information Technology (IT) firms.

The RosettaNet TC Council, comprised of global network operators and equipment suppliers, will leverage the global recognition and success of RosettaNet in the high technology industry by driving adoption and implementation of the RosettaNet standard in the telecommunications sector and related supply chain ecosystems.   Founding members of the TC Council include BT, Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Siemens.
