RosettaNet Press Release On Loan Executive SY Foong Returns to Intel After Completion of Two Year Assignment For Release March 31, 2004
SANTA ANA, CA
Over the course of the next two years, Yeo will direct the consortium’s business development activities, geographic expansion and standards implementation efforts in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, focusing on increased memberships and accelerated deployments. In his new role, he will report directly to Jennifer Hamilton, President and Chief Executive Officer of RosettaNet.
While at Intel, Yeo was a director of the Asia Supply Chain and Customer e-Business Group at Intel Technology Asia-Pacific and Japan. His duties included managing the Supplier e-Business, Planning e-Business and Customer e-Business programs, driving end-to-end strategic capability planning, building business capability roadmaps and implementing a combination of business processes and Internet technologies. Prior to joining Intel in 1998, Yeo spent nine years in the semiconductor industry in Asia, covering a wide area of responsibilities from supply chain management, manufacturing, customer service and sales.
"We welcome Steven to his new role as vice president of RosettaNet Asia and are eager to begin working together in an effort to build upon SY’s many successes," said Jennifer Hamilton. "As international commerce continues to gain momentum within Asia, we look forward to leveraging Steven's expertise to extend RosettaNet’s global leadership position."
“Enabling business-to-business integration using the standards developed by the RosettaNet consortium is essential to support Intel’s business throughout the Asia Pacific region and worldwide,” Michael Meston, director of Intel’s greater Asia region e-business group. “The tangible value accrued by Intel and our trading partners to date makes our continued investment in providing on-loan resources a simple decision.”
Yeo replaces SY Foong, who will return to Intel after a successful two-year assignment with RosettaNet Asia. During her tenure, Foong successfully established RosettaNet's e-business standards and solutions throughout the region and advanced the goals of the consortium considerably. Foong’s most notable achievements include:
In his new role, Yeo will carry on the progress made by Foong, moving RosettaNet even further along in its quest for global supply chain harmony. Foong will continue to oversee RosettaNet’s Asia Engineering Center, based in Penang, Malaysia, until a permanent director of engineering is named.
"RosettaNet owes a great deal of gratitude to SY for her numerous accomplishments while on-loan from Intel," said Jennifer Hamilton. "In just two years, she has greatly accelerated the mission of the consortium and gone above and beyond our initial goals for the Asia region."
