Parallel Programs
The RNBD Development Program's long-term roadmap includes coordinated activities with Next
Generation Architecture, PIP Factory and RNTD Development Programs.
Next Generation Architecture
The team developing the RosettaNet Business Dictionary is working in close alignment with the
Next Generation Architecture Team to ensure the solution under development will support that
program's requirements. The team consists of two participants active on both Foundational
Programs and are tasked with maximizing collaboration and driving alignment. A critical portion of
this activity is focused on the business content and data model for the RNBD, where the synergies
of these two activities come together.
PIP Factory
The solution for the RosettaNet Business Dictionary is a key infrastructure element to the PIP
Factory. As the PIP Engineers develop specifications and strive to maximize reuse and consistency
across specifications, the RNBD plays an integral role in the development activity. A well-defined,
robust RNBD solution will augment and add efficiencies to the development, maintenance and PIP
support activities moving forward. The two teams are working in close alignment, with active
participation of team members on both programs to ensure well-defined requirements develop into a
sustainable, scaleable tool for the PIP Factory.
RNTD Development
The RosettaNet Business Dictionary development team is working closely with
the RosettaNet Technical Dictionary team to ensure the solution designs of both projects will
align where possible. The RNBD development team includes two members that actively participate
in both foundational programs and are tasked with identifying the synergies and the extent to which
the two programs should converge.
Some of the critical questions that will be answered as a result of this
activity include:
- Should the two dictionaries utilize the same format/structure?
- Should the two dictionaries reside on a single platform?
- Should they adhere to a single implementation/maintenance methodology?
