Milestone Program Expected Output Documents

Objectives and Deliverables
Summary of the Program Objectives and the Expected Output for the Certificate of Analysis Program (CofA).

Specification Development Effort Purpose
This program will focus to create an accepted industry standard with a common vocabulary and a best in class approach for transmission of quality data. Ultimately, it standardizes the variety of electronic certificate of analysis approaches adopted in the industry today, and it enables the delivery of a standardized certificate of analysis information in an automated manner from the supplier to the customers. Subsequently, it improves efficiency under a complex supply chain environment by eliminating the current manual handling of this process.

Specification Development Effort Scope

  • Define and document requirements to support the Certificate of Analysis business process by modifying existing PIP(s) (namely the PIP 2A13 Material Composition or PIP 7C7 Notify of Semiconductor Test Data) to include quality related data elements OR creating new PIPs to support the Certificate of Analysis requirements for distribution and confirmation of quality data (which will include acceptance, rejection, and pending reply).
  • Utilize the PIP defined above in combination with the PIP 3B2 Shipment Notification to include shipment related data elements.
  • Develop specifications to support the Certificate of Analysis requirements.
  • A TPIR-PIP for each PIP in the business process will be required for the validation phase.
  • Validation of XML Schema PIPs and TPIR-PIPs

Out of Scope

  • The process of acquiring or aggregating the certificate of analysis data
  • The process for transmission of certificate of conformance data
  • Redefine or develop any vocabularies or formats already existing in the market today that can be used by RosettaNet

Speci fication Development Expected Output

  • eBusiness Process Description that describes the Certification of Analysis end to end business process and various business scenarios supporting overall exchange process.
  • Specification Requirements Document that fully describes the Certificate of Analysis business scenario requirements.
  • Validate and deploy the XML Schema Certificate of Analysis (CofA) PIP(s) with multiple partners.

Documentation and Implementation Support Expected Output

The supporting business and technical documentation to be developed by the program will include:

  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
  • Return on Investment study (ROI)
  • RosettaNet Implementation Guide (RIG) for each PIP

Include any known relationships or dependencies to other working groups or RosettaNet specifications:

  • CIDX and EDIFACT certificate of analysis standards
