Basics
The RosettaNet Basics program has defined Usage Recommendations (URs)
, to be used by mid-tier trading partners
, that address baseline B2Bi functionality
.
The RosettaNet Basics URs are to be used together with RosettaNet
Partner Interface Processes™ (PIPs(R)) as a starting point
. RosettaNet Basics is also
helping independent software
vendors (ISVs) and solution provider
s (SPs) to supply affordable, turnkey solutions
. The RosettaNet Basics
solution is designed to simplify implementations
- in terms of complexity and cost
- of RosettaNet standards for mid-tier trading
partners.
Program Partners
There are 4 members of RosettaNet's global EC and IT Supply Chain Board involved in
this Intel-led milestone program. Intel is joined by Compaq Computer, Hewlett-Packard and Insight.
ISVs that have partnered with the board member companies to offer solutions and services which
support the RosettaNet Basics URs are E2Open, GridNode, IONA/Netfish, Infoteria Corporation, Inovis
(was Peregrine/Extricity), Microsoft, SilverStream, Suplicity, TIBCO Software, Timogen Systems,
Vitria and webMethods. We continue to work with other solution providers to review their proposed,
RNB software solutions.
2001 Program Achievements
The RosettaNet Basics team completed development of Usage Recommendations for the
validated Purchase Order PIPs (3A4, 3A7, 3A8 & 3A9) and Advanced Shipment
Notification (3B2). Eleven RosettaNet software solutions were introduced at cost-effective
price points for small- to medium-sized companies.
Express
The RosettaNet Express
program has de

PGDs are to be used together with RosettaNet
PIPs as a starting point, ultimately resulting in measurable
benefits and improving partner relations.
Program Participants
Participating companies include: Acer, ADI, Arima Group, Asus
(tek), Compal Electronics, Compeq, Delta Electronics, First
International Computer, Inventec, Micro-star International, Mitac, Primax, Sampotech, Tatung
and Twinhead.
2001 Program Achievements
The RosettaNet Express team led over 70 small- to medium-sized companies in Taiwan to
