Program Scope

Summary of the Program Objectives and Expected Output for the Milestone Program.

1. Program Objective -

Leverage existing PIPs (3B12, 3B13, 3B14 and 3B3) to facilitate electronic data exchange. Ensure PIPs are flexible enough to meet industry needs.

2. Assumptions, Preconditions, or Dependencies -

  • New process will support pre-booking, booking, cancellation and status for both Integrators and Freight Forwarder services.
  • No existing functionality will be removed
  • Existing 3B PIPs will likely be aligned to the development effort of the SNM Program

3. Specification Development Effort Scope - IN SCOPE -

This program focuses on refining and re-factoring PIPs within the 3B Cluster to ensure they meet the needs of the industry. This effort is currently expected to include:

  1. Removing inconsistencies between the PIPs and the RIGs (3B12 and 3B13)
  2. Ensuring the PIPs:
    1. Support industry needs to communicate pre-booking and booking of shipment orders (3B12 and 3B13)
    2. Events are enhanced to accurately communicate status information (3B3)
    3. Migrate cancel shipment bookings (3B14) to a schema and validate
    4. Are all re-factored into schema and validated by multiple trading partners prior to release to the public

Re-factoring of 3B12 3B13 3B14, and 3B3.

  • Define the scope, requirements, use cases, and scenarios
